私がその仕事にひかれてしまう海外の友人たちは、なぜこんなにも、揃いも揃って、東京や日本のことが大好きなんだろう。
『here and there』を作り始めるずっと前から、そのことが不思議でならなかった。
「PARIS−TOKYO　ISSUE」はその疑問を本人たちにぶつけてみたら、どんな言葉が返ってくるんだろう？という素朴な好奇心から出発したものだ。キム・ゴードンの原稿やホンマタカシさんの写真、エレン・フライスのフォトエッセイなどが加わって、『here and there』ならではの二都物語が誕生した。 号を重ねるうちに、私だけの部屋からみんなの広場へ、『here and there』も少しずつ変わってきたな、と思う。一方で、変わらないものもたくさんあるな、とも思う。新しさと変わらなさの両方を、あなたの目で見つけてもらえたら。
